Last night, I had a good bottle of champagne to celebrate the humble life of Barry, RIP.

Later I also learnt about the death of Wendy Meredith’s father, Wendy is the Headteacher of Hargrave Park School and I am a Friend of the School, we work together to enrich the cultural education to the children.

This morning, I received the email from Miranda Lai informing us of her mother’s death in late December:

Dear All,
Sorry to let you know that my mum (黎李玲森) passed away in late December 06.
The funeral will be held on 19 Jan 07. There will be a Christian Memorial
Service held at 8 p.m. on the night before, i.e. Thursday, 18 January 2007 at
the Universal Funeral Parlour in Hung Hom.  (九龍紅磡暢行道世界殯儀館三樓明德堂)
With best wishes,
Lai Po

Miranda is a gifted writer who, as our contemporaries, started writing poetry a few years earlier than us.  While she was doing her postgraduate studies in UK, she was offered the post of Administrative Officer in the Hong Kong Government.  However, she chose her profession in teaching.  We all experienced the grief of losing one’s parent, please keep well and look after your family.
