Eat Humble Pie

Why can’t people be humuliated?  H.D. Thoreau said: ‘Humility, like darkness, reveals the heavenly lights.’  Why some members of the Islington Chinese Association  look at the speck in another’s eye and pay no attention to the log in their own eye.  It is sad that people are arrogant, self conceited and inconsiderate.  Phillip Brooks said: ‘The true way to be humble is not to stop till you are smaller than yourself, but to stand at your real height against some higher nature that shall show you the real smallness of your greatest greatness’

I totally agreed with your first half of your above writings. Really, many people in this world behave what you have descripted…look at the speck in another’s eye and pay no attention to the log in their own eye..
Please explain the second half of writings in Chinese. What Phillip brooks said..???

Mr Stephen

If you’re a human being, sure you are yourself, you do human things. It’s nothing wrong to complain about those not so human behaviours of some people who constantly try to hurt, annoy, upset or destroy other people’s mental state.
